This essay is proposal : Problem – Solution Argument. The topic is Impacts of Social Media. You will write a proposal based on the problem of the topic and what can be done to solve the problem-i.e., what can be done locally( in your community, city, state, or country,) NOT globally, to help solve the problem in questions. Ensure you do all of the following in your proposal: Prove a problem exists. Explain what action needs to be taken to alleviate the problem. Offer proof that your solution will work. Work with existing resources instead of asking for more/ any funding. The audience for this essay would be Gen-Z and you will write an audience profile that is TWO double- spaced, typed pages, explaining the following: What are the four characteristics of your audience? Why did you choose this audience? How did you specially hear your argument to ensure your audience will be convinced of your perspective? you will need 6 academic source for this paper. Notes: This essay can be written in First-person perspective.

Title: Addressing the Opioid Crisis: A Problem-Solution Argument for Implementing Harm Reduction Strategies

Overview
Assignment:
Construct a thesis-driven argument, supported by paragraphs with research and evidence. This includes alternate views/counter-arguments when appropriate.
You can do a standard argument where you take a position in an ongoing debate, support your position with research and evidence, and discuss opposing views and rebuttals.
Or
You can do a problem/solution argument where you define a current problem using research and propose possible solutions with research and evidence. You will argue for what you see as the most promising solution. (This what i picked)
Requirements: 
Your essay should be at least 8 pages including the Works Cited page (at least 2000 words including the Works Cited) and use at least 8 secondary sources. It must be an argument (should have a position, support for position, and opposing views and rebuttals or describe a problem and possible solutions). In-text citations and Works Cited page must use MLA format.
Requirements for sources:
You must use at least 8 sources. Acceptable sources are articles from academic journals, periodicals, or books.  Any article found using one of the databases in the Stony Brook library is acceptable (databases such as Academic Search Premier or Opposing Viewpoints).   At least half of your sources should come from peer-reviewed journals from the Stony Brook library databases.
Format
Fonts and Spacing: Your paper should be double spaced using a 12 point, easy to read font.  
Length: Eight pages minimum including the Works Cited page. Note: annotations for the sources should not be included in this essay.
