“Materials and Processes in the Manufacturing of Foley Urinary Catheters: An Analysis and Justification”

Title: Analyse and justify the materials and
processes used in the manufacturing of a typical Foley Urinary Catheter
The report should
include but not limited to the following points….
·     
Review the current materials used, commenting on the physical and
mechanical properties required by the product.
·     
Describe each step of the process to manufacture each individual
component, including how assembly would be performed.
·     
Describe the typical inspection devices/systems used for each component
and state why they are the correct choice for this task.
·     
Discuss the cost implications, of the materials utilised, the
manufacturing processes selected and the inspection techniques utilised.
·     
Outline perceived design or processing challenges which may give rise to
quality issues in one of the major product components.
·     
Outline the typical sterilisation process and comment on the packaging
type required or typically used for Foley urinary catheters.
Notes:
·      
Present the study in report format, with an introduction, main body and
brief closing discussion.
·      
The report should be no longer than 3,500 words.
·      
Concise English to be used (quality over quantity!)
·      
Images/graphs/tables should have proper referencing, with a legend and
brief description of the main point in the image, for example (Figure 1.
