“Exploring Japanese Culture and Society Through Film and Literature: Critical Responses”

Critical Response Forum – this forum is for a more thought out response that addresses: 1) the film, 2) the reading(s), and 3) your thoughts about how they relate to the culture, history, society, current events, etc., of Japan and/or other societies. It should be ~300 words.
Any response containing uncredited material by another author or a generic summary of a film that appears to be generated by ChatGPT or other artificial intelligence will receive a zero. Formal citations are not necessary, but if you refer to a specific part of the film or reading, it is helpful if you include a timestamp or page number. If you are citing a source outside the course texts, please include a citation.
I need 8 critical responses- from week 6-13 of the syllabus that i attached. You need to write 300 words for each response.
for week 8 reading 1: pp. 49–68, but especially 57–66
for week 8 reading 2: especially pp. 219-224
for week 10 reading: Read especially 77-80
also the weekly films are stated in the syllabus!

Title: The Codification of Anti-Chinese Sentiment: How the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act Reflects Decades of Discrimination

Please provide an answer that is 100% original and do not copy the answer to this question from any other website since I am already well aware of this. I will be sure to check this.
Please be sure that the answer comes up with way less than 18% on Studypool’s internal plagiarism checker since anything above this is not acceptable according to Studypool’s standards. I will not accept answers that are above this standard.
No AI or Chatbot! I will be sure to check this.
I need help with a research paper about How was the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act ultimately the codification and result of decades of anti-Chinese sentiment? I have already done an outline, see attached. My professor commented on the outline, see his comments: “There’s a good start here, but we’re taking on too many issues for a paper of this length. We won’t be able to adequately analyze everything here, so we’ll need to focus on a just a couple of them. Note that the research question implies that we’ll only be focusing on the pre-1882 era (up until the passage of the Chinese Exclusion Act), and not the impacts of the act in the years following (thus, no analysis of the 1888 Scott Act, as that comes later.) There are plenty of precursors to the exclusion act, from the shift from the 1868 Burlingame Treaty to the 1880 Angell Treaty, the 1875 Page Act, and so forth. See Beth Lew-Williams, *The Chinese Must Go* (this can be accessed online the same way as Haney Lopez’s book.)”
See below for requirements:
*The length of the paper is 2,500-3,000 words. Note that the works cited page does not count towards the word count requirement. MLA FORMAT
*A minimum of five sources is necessary, at least three of which must be academic (the OneSearch on the library homepage refers to these as “peer-reviewed,” and you can restrict your searches to such sources. Essentially every book in the library is academic.)
*I will be looking for direct references to all of your sources in the paper itself, whether through direct quoting or paraphrasing. It needs to be clear how your sources have shaped your argument in the paper.
*While the proposal asked for a specific research question, it isn’t necessary to reference it in the paper itself.
*this paper must include the formalities of an introduction, body paragraphs, conclusion, and works cited page (the latter of which will depend on the citation style you are using.) You can also include a title page, but it isn’t necessary.
Requirements: 2500-3000 Words Times New Roman Size 12 Font Double-Spaced MLA Format Excluding the Works Cited Page | .doc file

Please be sure to include an introduction paragraph with a clear thesis statement in the last sentence of the introduction paragraph and a conclusion paragraph.

Please be sure to include at least one in-text citation in each body paragraph.

Title: Exploring the Cultural Significance of Dim Sum and Kimchi through Media Studies and Archive Research

add abstract and table of content etc, and do edit for the following
Intro: Looking good. The thesis statement can be further sharpened a bit. It would be helpful to specify how exactly you use media studies and archive research in your thesis, i.e some explanation beyond mere mentioning.
chapter 2 on Dim Sum is overall good. It may make more sense to move the section about discriminatory comments on Chicken feet to chapter 4, making it parallel to the case about the odor of Kimchi.  While one of the main arguments posits that Dim Sum facilitates social interactions and cultivates a sense of belonging, your analysis doesn’t seem to have fully supported this argument. To strengthen it, consider highlighting the unique characteristics of Yim Cha that distinguishes it from other dining situations. Incorporate specific examples, interviews, or videos to illustrate these points effectively.
The perspective of fostering a sense of belonging becomes particularly important when discussing how this culture travels overseas. However, your draft seems to completely drop this aspect. Consider exploring how Dim Sum culture adapts and influences social interactions and a sense of belonging in different cultural contexts.
Chapter 3 does a good job of showing how Kimchi is a national food for Korea and ties with its national identity regardless of class. The section on women offers a nuanced analysis. It might be nice to compare the gendered labor here with the labor involved in preparing Dim Sum, which seems to be more gender neutral?
Ch4. The discussion of Chinese food in the US uses the example of Panda Express, while the Korean example sticks with Kimchi. Some rationale would be needed; it would seem random otherwise as there are many other Chinese food available in the US.
In terms of form, the thesis would be further enhanced with editing efforts on the language.

you do not need any source for this essay. Just need to rewrite this essay. make sure this essay answer all in the question. follow the question. This is part of exam, so you do not need to write exactly essay style for this.
1, Question: What was the situation in Japan about 1850? What were the strengths and weakness of Japanese society?  What were the internal and external factors that led to the dissolution of the Tokugawa Shogunate?  Try to look at as many different elements as possible.  [NOTE: 1850 is before the arrival of the “Black Ships”.  The question deals with the situation at the end of the Edo Period, not in the Meiji Period.
2, Question : Oda Nobunaga can be said to have “reconstructed” the Japanese state or, in an alternative model, while he may have consolidated the previous state, he greatly expanded the state (from Hokkaido to Okinawa) absorbing (colonializing or imperializing) areas such as Tohoku which had not been under effective control of previous regimes. Describe each model.  What difference does it make what perspective one takes of these events?
