Title: “Exploring LGBTQ Themes and Issues: A Book Review and Reflection”

Select a non-fiction LGBTQ themed book based on your interests. You will have a good part of the semester to complete this assignment.
The Napa Valley College library has the largest LGBTQ book collection in the North Bay Area. The Queer Liberation Library. & (QLL, pronounced “quill”) is entirely online and features e-books and audio books that you can “check out” to use.
You are not limited to a book from these collections, just be sure that the book you select is non-fiction, and focused on an LGBT issue or theme. Books of fiction are not acceptable.
To get you started, here is a list of possible and recommended book from the recommended reading list. ~
There is also Chapter 11 in the textbook @ devoted to LGBTQ+ literature available as optional reading so you can learn more about the history of LGBTQ+ literature.
Assignment:
Prepare an essay about the contents of the book and how it relates to the rest of the course. The essay shall include at least responses to the following questions.
1. What are the five most important things you learned from the book?
2. How did the content of the book impact your beliefs, values, and ideas about the subject of the book?
3. If you could talk with the author, what questions would you ask and what do you believe the answers would b
4. What was the book about (provide a summary).
In addition to submitting your paper, you will be asked to submit just the summary of the book (#4 above) in a class “book fair” discussion
