“Unveiling the Complexities of Body Image: Personal Observations and Societal Influences”

You will want to make the relationships between topic sentences clearer, so that your paragraphs don’t seem like independent subtopics.
you have a subjective angle (for how the topic affects people), this is NOT a persuasive genre. Any indication of you or your opinion does violate specific genre conventions.
I will add a previous essay for an example of observations since you need personal observation on body image issues.  But please do not copy anything word for word.
The first half of the essay is done, I just need the other half done. You can just add more paragraphs or words.
The essay should read like Ryan Kohls’s essay Clean Sweep.
It should not read like a regular all facts report.

“Revitalizing Community Engagement: A Proposal for Improving Social Perceptions and Involvement in FGC and Lake City”

Introduction to the assignment: A proposal offers a reasonable and well-explained solution to a
problem that needs one. To clarify, if we already have a solid plan for a solution in place, then
we don’t need your proposal that reports on someone else’s proposed solution. If repetition can’t
be helped (based on your topic selection), then you will need to expand on the existing solution
and distinguish an improvement to the solution.
Essay Guidelines (Checklist): You should follow this process:
1. Complete the following sections (labeling subsections is your choice): Definition of the
Problem, Argument about the Problem, which means addressing the relevance of the problem
(FGC, Lake City, or your community), Proposed Solution, and Analysis of the Solution (steps,
potential costs, and potential objections that should be addressed), and Call for Action (how do
people get involved? How can we change social perceptions?)
2. When explaining the problem or the solution, quote, paraphrase, and/or summarize from the
five or more sources from the A.B. or others you have added. (Direct quotes are not always the
best option for a large amount of information, so make effective writing decisions.)
3. In the persuasive sections (analysis of the problem, proposal of the solution, and objections),
remember to use details and examples. Remember persuasive appeals (ethos, pathos, and logos).
4. You must discuss one solution that already exists, and offer an original solution that you argue
is better than an existing solution.
5. You should have 1700 words for the bare minimum; no maximum.
Note: citations are very important: be sure that you have in-text citations in your paragraphs
and a Works Cited page with complete citations. (Your WC page does not count as a final page
of the report.)
6. Be sure that you have used descriptive examples to illustrate your points.
Grading: A-F assessment with points awarded that correlate to the letter grade (for Gradebook
averaging).
Automatic Fs are assigned to plagiarized essays or those that do not meet the minimum word
count.
The rationale for automatic Fs:
Passing this project, and therefore this course means that you understand how to ethically
incorporate research into your writing, and that you can engage in sustained exposition for your
more complex and varied writing tasks in future courses and careers.
