For the past few weeks, we have discussed the Catholic Church’s response to the sin of racism. Drawing from our discussions in class and the text “Created in Christ: A Catholic Response to the Sin of Racism,” how do certain well-intentioned approaches to race and racism fall short of their goal and often make matters worse when they fail to acknowledge what we know about human beings and society from Christian anthropology and Catholic theology? Keep in mind our discussions about being “made for communion,” “Trinitarian theology,” “free will,” “inner-conversion,” “Utopianism,” “defeatism,” and “hope.”
