Title: Developing a Lobbying Plan for an Important Issue

Instructions
https://www.c-span.org/classroom/document/?1292
We’ve discussed the difference between lobbying government entities and selling for a corporate entity (sales vs. lobbying). However, as Stephanie Vance discusses in the clip above, there are many similarities as well. There are three types of lobbying – legislative lobbying; regulatory advocacy lobbying; and budget advocacy. With this in mind, identify an issue important to you and develop a plan to lobby for it. Include the following in your plan:
A brief explanation of the issue you chose. For example, if you are interested in equal treatment of girls on the world, you might choose the issue of early marriage, female genital mutilation/cutting, access to education, etc.
Who you will target (and what type of lobbying you will do about it). Targets could be government officials, community leaders, traditional authorities, media, community members, etc.; depending on the issue.
What channels and outlets you plan to use?
What is your message to each target you identify, including your call to action?
Who will deliver your message?
How long will your strategy take?
Explain your reason for each of the six issues.
Your paper should be 4-7 pages, double spaced with 1″ margins, and submitted on Brightspace

“The Power of Proper Documentation: How to Effectively Use Research in Your Speech” Good evening everyone, Have you ever heard the phrase “cross your T’s and dot your I’s”? It’s a common saying that reminds us to pay attention to

Please write a text for 4-6 minute Informative Speech.
INFORMATIVE SPEECH GRADING
Introduction, 2 points
Grab our attention!  Be creative and have fun!  Remember Spaghetti Girl!!!
Structure, 4 points
Make obvious, your thesis, preview, body points w/clear and complete transitions, re-stated thesis, summary
Research, 3 points
All research must be completely and clearly spoken, and reflect exactly what you turned in with your works cited or bibliography.  Failure to turn in a proper and complete works cited or bibliography will result in a ZERO here.  Proper documentation is a crucial component of proper employment.
Example of research being spoken completely and clearly:
“According to the Los Angeles Times, February 28, 2018″….
Completely and clearly spoken means: source (LA Times) and complete date (February 28, 1969) month, day and year!   All you are giving a listening audience is what they need (nothing more nothing less) to find what you have shared, should they desire to do so.   Super important, it’s a bit part of your credibility!   It shows that, you crossed all your T’s and dotted all of your I’s!
Conclusion, 2 point
Leave us thinking!  Be creative and have fun!

Speech 2 Full Sentence Outline Speech Outline Evaluation

DISCLAIMER:
The originality of attachments will be verified by Turnitin. Both you and your instructor will receive the results.
Course Objective(s): CO 1-2
Description:
Prepare a detailed FULL SENTENCE outline for Speech 2 using the template below. Prepare a detailed outline for Speech 2 using the template below. This does not mean writing your entire speech but only writing the topic sentence for the three to five supporting points that prove your thesis. Include a thesis statement that contains the claim or prediction you will demonstrate or illustrate (which is usually spoken); a purpose statement, indicating if you are persuading or informing the audience; and the response from the audience you wish to achieve (which is not usually spoken); an introduction; a body, including supporting evidence; transitions; and a conclusion.
OUTLINE TOPIC
Your Speech 2 Outline will be on Speech 2, which is a 3 to 5-minute (closer to 5 minutes than to 3) speech in which you inform the audience about an issue important to you, but in this or any informative speech, rely more on presenting factual information rather than on bias or preference of any kind. The topic can include a process but give the audience an understanding, not simply directions alone. If you inform the audience about a place or a favorite vacation spot, tell them about it evocatively rather than just listing facts. Here, you would describe sensory perceptions such as sights, smells, and sounds and may include your personal experience. You may also present an important idea, concept, or any other issue you believe the audience needs to know better.
Go back to week one and read the directions for the first outline. Then, follow those directions, too!
This speech requires research and outside sources in creating your speech; include them in a bibliography and cite them in the outline and subsequent speech. Using at least two sources is required. Please use APA format for the citations in your outline.
GO BACK AND READ THE OUTLINE DIRECTIONS IN OUR FIRST ASSIGNMENT AND APPLY all that is there to this one outline, too. Thanks.
Here is a link to informative topics (you are not required to choose from this list):

“Perfecting Your Final Report: Crafting a Strong Thesis Statement and Incorporating Research Findings”

Before you begin working on your final report, ensure that you have done the analysis portion correctly. If you haven’t done your analysis correctly, it is impossible to get an A on your final report. If you did do it correctly, it will be much easier to write your final report.
Ground your thesis statement by making it the answer to your research question and the solution suggested by your research findings to the social problem you have been trying to understand. Make sure you have a clear and strong thesis statement, or you cannot get a top grade.
Explain how your thesis statement emerges from your research findings by listing the relevant codes and memos in your introduction, then discussing them each in turn in the body of your report.
DO NOT get bogged down rehashing your secondary research. You may use most of the writing you’ve already done for your proposal, but it must be edited and anything that is no longer relevant to your findings should be deleted.
Follow a structure that makes sense for your findings. Refer to the textbook and powerpoint materials on how to structure your report. If you aren’t sure how to do it on your own, use the outline structure from the PowerPoint slides (see ppt slideshow in this folder).
Make your writing flows from one paragraph to the next. Use transition sentences. Make your writing as beautiful as possible. Use your spell checker and grammar checker, even if you don’t think you need to. Trust me, you need to. Read your written report out loud, as that can help you identify grammatical and word choice errors.
Make sure you have properly referenced every paraphrase and quote you’ve borrowed from other authors, as failing to do so is plagiarism.
Make sure any elements you carry over from your research proposal to your report are rewritten so that they reflect the past tense instead of the future tense.
Proof read, edit and revise your report before you hand it in.
Make sure your bibliography from your lit review section is AFTER the report’s last page. (Yes, I have to write this, as some people are very lazy and think they can just copy/paste their full lit review into their final report!)
