In the second part of our course, we have discussed some family conflicts and rivalries in works of literature of the 20th century. As we have seen many of the same themes present in the ancient texts are also present in contemporary literature and film.
Investigative Assignment # 2:
Investigate stories of family conflict in contemporary narratives. Select one current television show, series, or film where one of the major factors is a family conflict or rivalry. In the case of a show, you can focus on one specific episode or the series as a whole if the basis of the series is the family relationship. Describe the conflict and which of the themes we have discussed in our lessons are present in the plot of the stories. (Please look ay files for stories and pick whichever to compare to the Tv show or film). Talk about the dynamics of the family relationships presented in the film or show. Compare and contrast these stories with the rivalries and family dynamics in the texts we have read in class. (located in files)
The report should be original work, written by the student and not copied from the internet or other sources. The report should be at least 500 words and no more than 600 words. Sources must be properly cited using the MLA style. YOU MUST FORMAT YOUR DOCUMENT FOLLOWING MLA STYLE
