In it you are to choose one thinker we have read at any point in the semester and highlight an aspect of the selection we have read by them, positioning it both in context with the other texts we have been reading, as well as in conversation with an item from the news media published sometime in 2022-2024. The paper should include at least two passages from the assigned text that you select to analyze in as well as a summary and a passage from the news item you have chosen put into comparison with your chosen thinker. Make clear how the thinker helps illuminate the issues raised by the current news item and how the concepts of your chosen thinker allow us to understand better what the news item exemplifies about our contemporary world. It should be an organized 4-5 page double-spaced paper with clear thesis statement and a Works Cited page.
