“Updated Regulations for Visiting and Accompanying in Care Homes, Hospitals, and Hospices in light of COVID-19 Outbreaks”

The Hugelius 2021 reference is very out of date regarding covid and there’s no need to include it.
Must mention regulation 9a and the DOH as these are both very current, April 2024
Regulation 9A: Visiting and accompanying in care homes, hospitals and hospices – Care Quality Commission (cqc.org.uk)
Supporting safer visiting in care homes during infectious illness outbreaks – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
No need to talk about lateral flow as these are out of date. Covid is referred to as a respiratory disease.  If we have an outbreak of suspected covid, we seek advice from the HPT who may suggest performing PCRs but we don’t need to say this, just make a reference to measures if we have an outbreak of an infectious disease.
No need to reference a paper talking about Data Protection Act and Human and equality rights, just reference the acts themselves.
Can you also put in about hours of visiting.
we also need to include something about eating.  They can eat with their family in the Green room or the dining room.

“Stylistic Analysis of Ratatouille: Exploring Genre and Cultural Influence Through Film Style” “Analyzing a Film: Uncovering Themes, Stylistic Choices, and Cultural Significance”

THE SELECTED MOVIE I CHOSE WAS RATATOUILLE
Introduction to FilmSpring 2024
LARGE PAPER TITLE: Stylistic Analysis of an Influential Film
PROMPT: This paper assignment asks you to consider why and how the film you’ve chosen became both a cultural icon (whether as a genre film or within a certain cultural niche), and how the stylistic elements of editing, mise-en-scene, cinematography, and/or sound helped to sustain its meaning within the film itself, then as an influencer to the Daniels for Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. You will write an 2000-2500 word (roughly 6-8 pages double-spaced) analytical essay about the thematic function of style in the film of your choosing from your discussion period signup.
CONTEXT:
Your overarching goal is to discuss how your film became an excellent example as a genre film or stands as an iconic film within a certain cultural niche. In order to do this you will need to use the class text/articles on genre studies or find one outside article that claims this movie is important to a certain group and use a minimum of one quote from the source to back up your position.
The second major objective of the essay is to describe important patterns (using the vocabulary of the course) in your chosen film. While you may refer to narrative or narrational patterns, your preliminary primary task is to identify stylistic patterns in the film. Finally, you will also analyze how those patterns relate to a larger thematic function. For example: what is the purpose of the ways in which Richard Donner (fill in your own director) uses editing, and/or cinematography, and/or mise-en-scene, and/or sound? Develop an idea about what you take to be an important theme or meaning in the film (perhaps related to your chosen article about what makes this a great example of genre or an important movie within a certain culture), then develop an argumentative essay that explains your opinions about how at least two elements of style work in tandem to support that meaning.
This assignment requires you to develop your argument by citing multiple scenes or moments that you determine to be helpful in supporting your thesis. Describe in specific detail how your director (and possibly specific people in the production team) uses elements of film style in these scenes or at these moments. How are stylistic motifs initiated, sustained, or resolved in these scenes? How do these patterns contribute to your outside sources understanding of genre or this film’s cultural importance?
OTHER SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIALS:
Consult your last three papers and their written responses. This semester has been a building process toward the goal of this paper: Paper 1: CHC, Paper 2: MES, cinematography and editing. Midterm: Close analysis of MES and the way it works with narrative form.
The class material on style, genre and its functions in Cleo from 5 to 7, The Magnificent Seven, Chungking Express, Citizen Kane, Jackie Brown and Sunset Boulevard. (especially text references or supplementary articles)
Consult your textbook—specifically, pp. 57-60 in Chapter 2 (on form and meaning in film), the individual film analyses in Chapters 4 through 8, and especially Chapter 11, which contains sample full-length analyses.
Use “Appendix: Writing a Critical Analysis of a Film” from Film Art (10th edition), posted within “Supplemental Readings” for a brief discussion of how to write an analytical essay on a film. When you’re ready to plan out how you will construct the paper, refer to the structure offered on p. 452. You may find especially helpful the sample student essay on The King of Comedy on pp. 454-456.
PLAN!
Select your movie and sign up on the Canvas list under discussions.
Find a supplementary article or location from text on genre quickly (academic journals provide some of the meatiest ideas for you to sink your teeth into. Although, certain films might have less written about them). If you need help with this, or are concerned about the article as being useful to you, consult your discussion group teacher.
Watch movie several times (be sure to draw up a segmentation of the film by the second viewing)
Do “Prepare to write” from “Writing a Critical Analysis of a Film”
Organize and WriteBe sure your thesis aligns to the needs of the essay (film as an example of a genre or cultural icon, stylistic choices discussed and analysis of film.)
When done writing go through the checklist provided on p. 453 of “Writing a Critical Analysis of a Film”
Save a few days to edit, go to the writing lab and run by a few trusted readers.
FORMAT & DEADLINE:
Your essay should have a cover page and should be typed in a 12-pt, Times New Roman font with one-inch margins, double-spaced, and free of spelling, punctuation, and grammatical mistakes. As you are required to quote at least one source you will need to include a References or Works Cited page (depending upon which style choice you would like to use: APA, MLA or Chicago are the preferred styles for this class). All film titles must be italicized. Your essay is due as an electronic copy (uploaded to Canvas) Monday, April 15 by 11:59 PM. Each day late or page short will result in a full grade deduction. Each page long will result in a half grade deduction. None of the word count will include the title page, works cited/references.
The official rubric for this paper will I also available under files.
BEST OF LUCK AND HAVE FUN!…seriously ;P

Navigating a Value Conflict in Mental Health Fieldwork: A Reflection on My Experience with Hear Me

My fieldwork was through an organization called Hear Me, a peer to peer mental wellness chat application. The format is such that a user who is over the age of 18 logs on, requests a chat, and the first MSW student to pick up the chat engages with the person. Because of this format, I encountered stories of many varieties. Many people wanted to talk about sexual health issues. I consider myself to be sex positive, so when this particular user logged on and requested to chat about sexual health, I consented. He rather quickly disclosed that he was having feelings of sexual attraction towards his mother. I immediately detected a value conflict and felt outside of my depth. My sex positivity found its limits with this chat. HearMe has a policy that if someone is uncomfortable with a chat for any reason, they may politely leave and suggest the user request another MSW student listener. I was deeply uncomfortable, so I politely let the user know that another MSW student would likely be a better fit for their situation. I did my best to end the conversation in a nonjudgmental way, and then I immediately contacted my supervisor to let him know about the unique subject matter. According to Conmartin and Gonzales-Prendes (2011), “The conflict between my feminist and social work values hinged upon my inability to separate the intrinsic value of the individual from his or her behaviors. I was unable to see that, regardless of the specific behavior…there is always a person that has the same dignity and worth as everyone else”. This was similar to the value conflict with which I was dealing. Instead of addressing this value conflict, my supervisor validated my decision to leave the conversation. Perhaps after taking this course I would be more prepared to address a value conflict such as this without leaving the conversation. (Andrea)

Balancing Personal and Professional Obligations: Navigating Conflicts in Mental Health Advocacy

Dilemma Description: From a personal perspective, the dilemma involves grappling with the memory of my brother’s struggle with mental illness and the impact of inadequate care on his life, leading to his tragic death. This personal experience fuels my commitment to advocating for individuals with mental illness and ensuring they receive appropriate treatment and care. Professionally, the dilemma centers around the conflict within the interdisciplinary team regarding the length of stay for psychiatric patients. While I believe some patients require more time for stabilization, there is pressure from senior team members to discharge patients early due to managed care constraints and financial considerations.
Obligations: As a social worker, my primary obligation is to advocate for the well-being and best interests of my clients, which includes ensuring they receive appropriate and comprehensive care to address their mental health needs. This obligation is grounded in the NASW Code of Ethics, particularly in the principles of social justice, dignity and worth of the person, and the importance of client self-determination (Workers-2008). Additionally, I have an obligation to uphold professional integrity and ethical standards in my interactions and decision-making within the interdisciplinary team.
Obligation to Colleague: While I have a duty to advocate for my clients, I also recognize my obligation to approach the dilemma with empathy and professionalism towards my colleague. This involves initiating open and respectful communication with my supervisor to discuss our differing perspectives and the potential impact of early discharge on patient outcomes. By addressing the conflict directly and collaboratively, we can work towards finding a mutually beneficial solution that prioritizes the well-being of our clients.
Mediating Personal Conflict: To mediate the personal conflict stemming from my brother’s experience, I must acknowledge and process my emotions while maintaining professionalism in my interactions with colleagues and clients. This may involve seeking support from a supervisor, mentor, or peer supervision group to navigate the emotional challenges and ensure that my personal experiences do not interfere with my ability to effectively advocate for clients. Additionally, engaging in self-care practices such as mindfulness, therapy, or reflective journaling can help me manage the emotional impact of the dilemma while remaining focused on my professional obligations.(denisha)

Access to Care and Improving Physical Wellness: Strategies for Expanding Access and Reducing Risk Factors

PART 1 Discuss how access to care can be expanded or restrictive based on policy (3-4 PARAGRAPHS)
PART 2 In this module we have identified many ways to improve our physical wellness. Specifically, we have talked about how sleep is an important factor for improving our everyday lives physically and mentally. We also reviewed cancer and diabetes this week in conjunction with our overview of cardiovascular disease during week two. After learning more about these topics, please discuss the following:
1. SLEEP
Tell us one helpful sleep habit you are confident in as well as at least one habit that is a barrier to good sleep for you.
After identifying the barriers keeping you from getting better sleep, explain how you will improve these habits. What are realistic steps you can see yourself taking in the near future to improve your quality and quantity of sleep?
2. CANCER & DIABETES
Risk factors are an important way to prevent disease. Knowing what makes us more at risk for chronic diseases can help us maximize our preventative efforts and improve our overall wellness. In this lecture, what risk factors did you identify for cancer and/or diabetes in yourself? These may be choices you are making, but they may also be characteristics out of your control (gender, race, age, etc.). It may help to take the ADA’s diabetes risk screening tool.
How can you improve your physical wellness by lowering your risk for chronic diseases? What are some realistic changes you can see yourself making in the near future to reduce your risk?
REVIEW OF EXPECTATIONS
Your response is worth 10 points.
The answer to each question (listed as bullet points above) must be a full paragraph (minimum of 4-6 sentences) with proper grammar and punctation. Your response to a classmate should be at least one full paragraph.
