My proposed and approved topic is below:
The problem I am going to research, address, and attempt to solve will be having a security presence at Institutes, what happens if some issues/threats arise, and how we prepare for future events.
The research strategies that I am going to planning to use are:
1. Review the guidelines we have for our past February 2024 Conference and see if there are similar organizations who may provide their guidelines for my review.
2. Speaking with security experts in the field who specialize in security and cultural event security
3. Review past incidents at events and possibly even on campus and review the outcome for issues such as antisemitism, war in Israel, etc.
4. Research the area of our events. If we are having an event in Fort Myers, Florida I’d research and speak to local Jewish Community leaders and organizations to see if there are security threats and what we should prioritize with
5. Review case studies and recent speakers for issues that could affect the security measures or help in implementing them
6. Look into training programs and resources that are available and see if any could pertain or be put into place for our event and could be used as best practices for future events.
