“The Golden Illusion: The Romanticization of California’s Past in Hollywood Films”

1.  It is human nature to make the past look better than it really was. Select a film that you believe romanticizes some part of California history, and explain your choice.
Comments: You should ideally choose a movie you are familiar with; you can also watch/re-watch the film, if you wish. Your paper should make clear what era is (or eras are) being romanticized, and then should explore specific ideas that are being communicated. In addition to the film itself, you are free to consider the marketing for the film, interviews with the director, behind-the-scenes information, promotional materials for the film, etc.
There are two different types of films that might work here. The first is a film that was explicitly looking backward at the past (like, say, a film made this year about the gold rush, which would be a 2024 film about an 1840s event). The second is a film that was set in the present for those who made it, but that people in 2024 look back at and get a romanticized view of the era in which the film was produced (like, say, a film made in 1960 about the year 1960).
Your essay should be at least 1,000 words. That said, doing the bare minimum in life is not usually the path to maximum rewards, and there is no penalty for writing “too much.”
The professor stated for every idea brought up in the Essay it has to have 2 evidence thats why there is 6 citations required. I have attach my intro paragraph i had to send in as a check it but feel free to revise it and improve it.

“The Illusion of a Golden Past: Romanticizing California History in Film”

The question:
1. As I noted in the lecture, it is human nature to make the past look better than it really was. Select a film that you believe romanticizes some part of California history, and explain your choice.
Comments: You should ideally choose a movie you are familiar with; you can also watch/re-watch the film, if you wish. In addition to the film itself, you are free to consider the marketing for the film, interviews with the director, behind-the-scenes information, promotional materials for the film, etc.
Your essay should be at least 1,000 words. That said, doing the bare minimum in life is not usually the path to maximum rewards, and there is no penalty for writing “too much.”
Attached are some tips the professor gave us to apply towards the essay. Also there is the first check in for the essay which is a draft of the introduction to get approval for the essay or any critics.
One thing the professor said in class was we need 3 ideas and with it we need 6 pieces of evidence so each idea has 2 evidences backing it up.
Please dont make it sound super professional with ; or ,  I tend not to use these in my work and dont want to seem like I write professionally.
