Part 1 explain the instructions for the assessment to your client. Part 2 is a written component that includes information about the measure, the results, and your understanding of the results. 
Part 1 …. In an actual first counseling session, you would spend time reviewing the informed consent document (such as limits to confidentiality, et cetera) and introducing the client to the counseling process. However, for the purpose of this assignment, simply go straight into sharing about the type of assessment or screening you’d like them to complete. An example is below:
“Hi __________. Thanks so much for meeting with me today and sharing about what you’re currently struggling with. To best understand your circumstances (and include other rationale for providing the assessment/screening), I’d like you to complete the ____________(insert the corresponding assessment measure for your case scenario). The ___________ (insert assessment measure) is looking at ___________ (insert information about the assessment/screening and what it is looking at) . . . .”
Provide instructions to the client on how to complete the assessment measure.
Part 2 …. 
For this part of the assignment, write a 3–4 page paper that addresses the following:
Assessment results.
Score the assessment the client took and present the results.
Discuss the reliability and validity of this measure.
This section should be 2–3 paragraphs and include at least one scholarly source.
Historical view of assessment.
Include a brief historical overview of the assessment tools used in the assignment. Discuss how these assessments have evolved over time and how different theoretical perspectives have influenced their development.

Cultural considerations.
How might the cultural considerations in your case study impact the interpretation of the score? Consider addressing the cultural biases that might exist in traditional assessment tools and how these have been addressed or modified for diverse populations.
What is your understanding of the client’s problem based on the information provided?
Reflect on your own biases and assumptions that might impact the assessment process.
This section should be 1–1.5 pages and include at least one scholarly source.

Clinical Mental Health Counseling Case Scenario
Mia, a 34-year-old marketing professional, recently moved to the United States from South Korea. She is struggling with feelings of isolation and cultural adjustment. Mia’s supervisor notices a decline in her work performance and recommends her to the employee assistance program (EAP). Mia, unfamiliar with counseling, is hesitant and expresses concerns about being perceived as “weak” for seeking help. The EAP informs Mia that you, as a mental health counselor, can help her navigate these challenges, improve her well-being, and enhance her professional and personal life. Additionally, Mia communicates primarily in Korean, posing a language barrier in the counseling process.
