Critically discuss a productive encounter (historical or
contemporary) between a form of
creative art, an artistic practice or an artist and an area of mental
health or mental health practice.

Critically engage with the
research material, including using productive examples or case studies and
pertinent referencing to support your argument.

Make sure that the structure of
your Essay
supports the overall claims you are making and presents the argument in a
coherent and persuasive way.

Use a clear and assertive
written communication style.
Written work must identify an interesting
and original topic relevant to the module, and construct a clear, searching,
persuasive and engaging argument, making consistent use of appropriate
stylistic and bibliographical conventions. It will demonstrate genuine
potential for further research. Where appropriate it will demonstrate excellent
judgment and sophistication in some of the following: in deploying
research-based knowledge in line with current scholarship, in selecting and
applying an appropriate methodological and/or theoretical approach, in
analysing complex written and/or visual materials, in assessing the relevance
of evidence and of competing arguments, and in reflecting critically upon its
own procedures and conclusions. Where appropriate it will show a sophisticated
awareness of the wider social, cultural, historical or ethical implications of
the issues addressed. Significant credit will be given for originality, whether
in the exercise of independent critical power, or the discovery of new material.
