The video link is of students (me and my partner) recording themselves in a mock counseling session by using helping skills with a partner serving as the designated helpee. During this recorded session, we demonstrated the counseling skills that we have learned up to that point: attending, reflecting, responding, empathy, listening, confrontation, summarization etc. You will submit a minimum of a 4-page personal evaluation/critique/write-up of your recorded session (requirements for paper are below). 
Skills Attempt (You Don’t Need To Write About This As I Did This In The Video, However, You Do Need To Assess How Well I Completed The Skills In Section II)
Remember to fully attend to your helpee!  
Use the Empathy Formula (or close variation of it) a minimum of 2 times.  
Use prompts (“Tell me more about…”) and minimal encouragers as you see fit.  
Bring clarity using concreteness— Use min. 1 open-ended Question
Needs to be more than the 1st question to start or “why?”
Reflect immediacy at least once.
Confront the client to bring awareness
Utilize one summary statement: “So the problem is…?”- I from IDEAL

What did you notice about your attending skills and being present?  Which skills you used well (strengths)? Why?
Which skills could have been used better (weaknesses)?  How will you develop them?
How did your strong skills help during the session?  
How did your weaker skills interfere or not help as much as they could have during the session? 
SECTION II: WHAT I LEARNED FROM REVIEWING THIS TAPE & CLASS FEEDBACK (2 pages min) 
What were you conscious of coming in with feedback from Skills A? (Skills A was a previous paper written when we first practiced these skills, you can just make something up that sounds good for this)
What you learned about yourself ?
What you learned about practicing the new skills of immediacy, confrontation, problem strategy?
What was your experience integrating peer feedback this time around?
Is there anything about yourself or these skills that you have become aware of as a result of this experience?  
How will having a better understanding of yourself and these skills help you in your future career?

APA format, double-spaced, 12-point font, times new roman, 1” margins
Written in a pleasing manner (i.e., high readability, not repetitive, Paragraph breaks, etc.)
Free of grammatical errors, misspelled words, and improper usage of punctuation
