Letter of Introduction
Write a letter to your students and their families introducing yourself and your classroom management system. Include the following:
The classroom management approach you will employ in your classroom
Strategies you will implement to prevent and reduce misbehavior
Ethical, moral, and legal obligations your plan considers
Your plan for communication with stakeholders (i.e. parents, students, etc.)
Apply faculty feedback from Week 1 to improve your letter before resubmitting.
Classroom Management Plan
Develop a classroom management plan—bulleted or numbered and stated in positive terms—that includes your personal discipline philosophy, classroom rules, and consequences
Apply faculty feedback from Week 3 to improve your discipline philosophy, rules, and consequences.
Classroom Procedures
Describe at least 7 regular classroom procedures or routines (i.e. turning in assignments, entering or exiting the room, group work, restroom, computers,centers, missing materials, etc.) and how they will be done in your classroom.
Classroom Design
Create a graphic representation of your classroom setup with a written rationale for your setup. Include notes describing strategies used to improve positive learning environment, student behavior, and student accountability.
Student Accountability Documents
Create or locate online 3 documents that can be used in your classroom to increase student accountability (e.g., student contract). Please include the 3 documents in your submission.
Include an explanation as to how each accountability document will be used in the classroom and why they are relevant.
Diversity Plan (Please note: this is not the same graphic organizer that you created in Week 2)
Create a visual organizer that identifies 5 methods or strategies you will use to address diversity issues in your classroom. Include the following for each method/strategy in your visual organizer:
Rationale for the inclusion of the method/strategy based on research
At least 1 example of how that method/strategy may be implemented
Format your citations according to APA format.
Check your submission against the EDUC/521 Culminating Project Assignment Rubric to ensure you have met all of the criteria.
