“Exploring Neural Correlates of Emotion Regulation in Schizophrenia: An fMRI Study”

Abstract:
This research experiment investigates neural correlates of emotion regulation in individuals with schizophrenia using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Schizophrenia is characterized by profound disturbances in emotion processing, yet the underlying neural mechanisms remain poorly understood. Building upon previous research suggesting dysfunction in brain regions involved in emotion regulation, this study aims to elucidate aberrant neural activity during emotional tasks in individuals with schizophrenia compared to healthy controls.
The experiment involves a novel emotion regulation task administered during fMRI scanning, designed to elicit differential neural responses to emotional stimuli and regulate emotional responses. Participants diagnosed with schizophrenia and demographically matched healthy controls undergo fMRI scanning while engaging in the emotion regulation task. The task involves viewing emotionally evocative stimuli and employing cognitive reappraisal strategies to modulate emotional responses.
There should be a background, methods, etc.. as stated in the guidelines attached below.
There should lots of references throughout the essay.
This is more so of a literature review of a research experiment linked below, but new information and analysis should be incorporated.

This is a research assignment. You are to find a trending topic in MRI. This can include new scanning techniques, new types of invasive or non-invasive procedures, new types of functional MRI imaging, modified MRI equipment, etc. This topic must cover certain categories. This must be a new development or procedure. The pros and cons of the topic should be discussed. Why this is an advancement for MRI? How can this be used in a clinical setting? There needs to be a minimum of 3 references. This should be a MINIMUM OF 550 WORDS
