In this assignment, evaluate cultural research and cultural relevant practices that take culture into consideration. Examine three research articles of your choice featuring the cultural group you have selected. Next, evaluate the method of research conducted for its level of cultural competence. To ensure that this is a scholarly research paper, explore research-based articles and books found by searching through the Capella library databases pertaining to issues of culture in research and culturally relevant practice. Feel free to use the ADEI term in your search as well.
To help you understand some of the unique challenges of culturally relevant research, review the readings concerning culturally relevant research approaches. Then search for scholarly sources in the Capella library and locate at least three articles that add to your knowledge of the cultural group you have chosen to explore for these assignments. Review these articles in a 3–5 page paper in current APA format.
Your assignment should incorporate at least three research studies that have addressed the cultural group you are exploring. Include the following:

Annotated bibliographies are useful steps toward completing literature reviews. This assignment helps you to begin reading and reviewing the literature for your research proposal. Creating an annotated bibliography helps you sort your literature. Annotating your research articles saves you time because it allows you to outline all the important information about a research article so that you do not have to read the same article multiple times. This will be important as you progress toward completing your literature review.

The purpose of this assignment is to investigate a social policy with some depth and explore the implications of that policy. This paper requires research on the policy itself as well as the historical era and events surrounding the development and implementation of the policy. You will also include a discussion of the intent, target(s) (behavioral and/or individual), ideologies, and impacts of the policy. Lastly you will evaluate the effectiveness of the policy (based on others’ research) and/or present an alternative policy or strategy to meet the policy’s stated goals.
Format:
The paper should cover the following 5 areas:
Identify a social policy
Provide some historical context of the policy (what was happening around this time and location) – was it during the progressive era, welfare reform era, etc.
Describe the social policy: how did the policy come to be? What social problem was it set up to solve? What was the target population or behavior of the policy? What were the eligibility criteria of the policy and what were the benefits and/or burdens of it?
Analyze the values (e.g. equality of opportunity) ideologies (protestant work ethic, paternalism, individualism, etc.) and/or moral theories (e.g. liberalism, Marxism, etc.) driving and/or supporting this policy.

Social policy connects to all aspects of social work practice, even if the connections are not always immediately obvious. For this assignment, you will look at policy implications of a social problem that is important to you. Your goal is to find some of the federal, state, or other policies which affect the prevention of, interventions for, or understanding of your social problem.
To find a policy related to your social problem, navigate to the Encyclopedia of Social Workthrough the YU library (if that link doesn’t work for you, navigate to the main library website and then search “Encyclopedia of Social Work” in the search bar). You might have to look at a few articles to find what you need. Choose “policy” or “political” as a search option for “heading” or search on the topic of interest to you, something short like “health care” or “mental health” or “discrimination.”
Choose an article about a social problem of interest to you from the Encyclopedia and discuss the policy implications of that problem. Answer the following questions in your initial post:
What is the social problem, and why is it important to you?
What policy or policies affect the social problem?
How does this policy or policies affect the problem? (For example, do the policies contribute to the cause? How we intervene? How we understand the problem?)

Spirituality is a form of coping for clients and their families.
Imagine that you are a new school social worker in a local urban school district. The assistant principal has sent you a referral and requested that you speak with a new teenage female student. In reviewing the referral from the assistant principal, you learn that student is a ninth grader who is from a small town. The student, May, is originally from Bandung, Indonesia. As you continue to read the referral, you uncover the fact that the student has participated in prayer several times a day. Many other students have used this participation in faith-based practices as an excuse for not completing assignments in their courses. The teachers have reported the student’s prayer time to be disruptive.
