“Exploring Financial Data of a Publicly Traded Company: [Company Name]”

The objective of this project is to familiarize students with obtaining and reviewing financial data of publicly traded companies.
Company Selection: Choose a publicly traded company, preferably smaller ones as they tend to have less complex financial statements. Avoid selecting financial institutions or insurance companies due to the differences in their financial statements compared to typical companies covered in this course.
Data Collection: Obtain the necessary financial data, primarily from the company’s most recent 10-K (Annual Report) and Proxy Statement. The following information must be identified:
Annual Revenue
Annual Net Income
Current Ratio
Depreciation and Amortization Expense (found in the Cash Flow statement)
Compensation of CEO (found in the Proxy Statement)
Identification of any notable board members
External auditor fees for each service category (found in the Proxy Statement)
Amount of Goodwill (if any)
Inventory amount (if any)
Fiscal Year End
Headquarters location
Gross Margin Ratio for the current year
Cash Flow from Operations for the current year
Brief description of one accounting pronouncement found in Footnotes
CEO’s age (found in the Proxy Statement)
Allowance for Doubtful accounts as a percentage of Gross A/R
Submission Requirements: Prepare a minimum of 6 pages in APA format, addressing all the items listed above. The submission must include a cover page, reference page, and well-cited sources. Do not include the source documents showing where the information was obtained; only submit the written document.
