“Case Management Assessment and Analysis: A Biopsychosocial Perspective on the Family in ‘Kind Hearted Woman'” Title: Implementing Sensory Integration Therapy to Support Children with Sensory Processing Disorder

APA FORMAT TITLE & REFERENCE PAGE DOUBLE SPACED 12pt. FONT 6 PAGES For Part 1 of this project you will watch the documentary, Kind Hearted Woman (5 hrs), taking as many notes as you deem necessary to highlight the facts, key problems, and strengths of the all identified family members. https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/documentary/kind-hearted-woman/? You will be working to identify strengths and challenges for each individual from a biopsychosocial perspective as well has unique strengths and challenges they have as a family. Your notes should be organized in a way the makes sense to you and are understandable to anyone who may need to review your work. Examples may include organizing by individual and family, organizing by identified issue (physical, psychological, medical, educational, work, criminal, etc.) Your notes are the foundation of any case management service you provide so it is important to be as thorough as possible. There may be items that seem small but could prove essential to the overall services being provided to the family so be as detailed as possible. Using your notes and the attached case management assessment tools, we will: PART 2: 1. Identify key problems, why they exist, and how they impact the individual or family. 2. Explore possible solutions or changes that are needed for each individual. Students can use course readings, discussions, their knowledge of local service resources, or conduct an internet search of services that have been used for the identified problems. Live sessions will be held during the week for students to ask questions, get some direction, and share ideas with each other on how they would identify resources. Case management is not meant to be a solo activity, use your classmates! 3. Select a ″best″ solution for each individual′s problem. Students will be expected to provide supporting evidence, pros, cons, and determine if the solution is realistic for the individual′s current needs. The solution should also include any additional requirements to implement (referrals to other agencies, transportation, funding availability, etc.) and what the expected outcome is (what does success look like?). This is an opportunity to be really creative and think outside the box (cliché′, I know)! Some of the best case managers are those who can create solutions that maybe haven′t been tried or even thought of before. Don′t be afraid to put forth an idea that could benefit the family. This is also why focusing on a family′s strengths can be really useful. Strengths can become their own solutions if we use them in a beneficial way Part 3: Is combining Part 1 & 2 together (Assessment Part) PART 4: The final step of the case study is to use your notes, assessment, and goals plan to build the case study analysis. The following template will be used to create your final report. I. Introduction (Just a Quick Overview of what I am about to read) – Identify the key individuals in the case and the primary individuals who are the target clients. – Identify the key problems and issues in the case study – This is an opportunity to introduce your family, the issues that you will be addressing in working with them, and proposed outcomes. – This section will be a snapshot of what you will be presenting in the body of the document II. Background – Set the scene: background information, relevant facts, and the most important issues. – Demonstrate that you researched the problems in the case study III. Evaluation of the Case – Outline the various pieces of the case study that you are focusing on. – Evaluate these pieces by discussing what is working and what is not working (strengths and concerns) – State why these parts of the case study are or are not working well. – Is there information missing from the assessment that might impact the work you do with the individuals or family? IV. Proposed Solutions/Changes – Provide specific and realistic solutions(s) or changes needed – Explain why this solution was chosen – Support this solution with solid evidence, research, such as: – Concepts from class (text readings, discussions, lectures) – Outside research – you will need to document your sources to avoid plagiarism. – Personal experience and knowledge V. Recommendations – Determine and discuss specific strategies for accomplishing the proposed solution – If applicable, recommend further action to resolve some of the issues – What should be done and should do it? Your analysis will be written in APA format, double-spaced, 12 pt font. There is an APA template located in Microsoft Word that I will cover in a live session as well as how to properly reference your source material. The analysis will be no less than five pages, not including the title and reference pages.Requirement: 6 pages

Assignment 1: Visualizing Data in Hip Hop and Daily Life Title: “Impact of Social Media Usage on Mental Health in College Students” Question 2.1 Data: Table of Data: | Student ID | Social Media Usage (hours/week) | Reported Stress Level (1-10) | |

Assignment 1
Q1 The Largest Vocabulary in Hip Hop (contains adult language)
8 PointsGrading comment:
For the first part of this assignment, you are to explore how to visualize the results from an analysis that uses primarily textual data. You will read and critically engage with a data journalism project. Answer the questions concisely (please no more than a few sentences per point, concision is key!).
Navigate to The Pudding’s piece “The Largest Vocabulary in Hip Hop”: http://poly-graph.co/vocabulary.html
And check out this updated version too: https://pudding.cool/projects/vocabulary/index.html
Question 1.1Q1.1
2 PointsGrading comment:
Choose 10 of the artists visualized on the page linked above. You can choose your favorite artists or pick randomly along the spectrum. Then, in a Google Sheets, make three columns of data: in the first column, record the name of the artist/group, in the second, record each of your 10 artists’ number of unique words used (from above website). In the third column, find (from Google and/or Wikipedia) the year of each artists’ first studio album release (e.g., 1995).
Create a scatterplot of the number of unique words against the year of their album release (highlight the data > insert chart > select scatter chart.). Attach a screenshot of the table and the resulting plot.
Is the plot of points slanted up, down, or flat? What does this tell us about the number of unique words used vs. the year of each artists’ first studio album release?

Question 1.4Q1.4
1 PointGrading comment:
When it comes to unique words, what do the data suggest happened from early on around approx the 1990s to approx late 2010s (from the sample set you selected)?
Save AnswerQuestion 1.4:
Question 1.5Q1.5
1 PointGrading comment:
Suggest 3 additional variables that the author could have extracted and analyzed from the lyrics data, other than # of unique words used.

Question 1.6Q1.6
1 PointGrading comment:
What is “token analysis” and how might it bias, i.e. interfere with our interpretation, of comparing hip-hop artists’ vocabularies to that of Shakespeare and Melville? (We may not have covered token analysis in lecture yet, so you will likely have to do some reading on your own.)

Q2 Your Visualization
12 PointsGrading comment:
The goal of this part of the assignment is to collect data about something in your daily life or something that you’re interested in and effectively visualize that information. You need at least 10 data points (but can have more). For example, if you collect data about something you do once a day, and you only have 5 days left to complete this assignment, you’ll need to collect data from at least 2 people to get 10 data points. You are free to collect data on any classroom-appropriate topic, but we encourage you to be creative. You could plot the time you brush your teeth every day (kinda boring.) or you could track all the compliments you overhear others giving over the course of the week (more interesting!). If you need some inspiration, consider the topics visualized in the Dear Data (http://www.dear-data.com/theproject) project. Your visualization will likely not look like a Dear Data visualization, but it will likely help inspire you on the type of data you may want to collect.
Question 2.1 DataQ2.1 Data
4 PointsGrading comment:
Include a table with the data you’ve collected here or a link to the data in Google Sheets. (If you include a link to Google Sheets because your data are too large to be pasted here, be sure the link is viewable by others.) Be sure that these data are stored in a tidy data format and follow the best practices for information stored in tables/spreadsheets.
Please select file(s)Select file(s)
Save AnswerQuestion 2.1: Data
Question 2.2 Data VisualizationQ2.2 Data Visualization
4 PointsGrading comment:
Generate an effective explanatory visualization of the data you collected. What you use to create this visualization is up to you. You could draw it on a piece of paper, create it on a drawing app, generate it in Excel/Google Sheets, or use a programming language (R, Python, etc.) to generate the visualization – it’s totally up to you. This visualization should be appropriate given the type of data you’ve collected and the message you want to convey. It should follow the best practices for visualization discussed in lectures.
Please select file(s)Select file(s)

Question 2.3 Visualization InterpretationQ2.3 Visualization Interpretation
2 PointsGrading comment:
Explain in a few sentences what you want the viewer to take away from your visualization.
Save AnswerQuestion 2.3: Visualization Interpretation
Question 2.4 Design ExplanationQ2.4 Design Explanation
2 PointsGrading comment:
Explain in a few sentences why you made the design choices you did. Why were you interested in visualizing these data? Why that type of plot? Why those colors? How did you decide on your title?

Title: Ensuring Counselor Competence: A Look at Disciplinary Cases in Virginia

As pointed out in your text, ensuring counselor competence is an ongoing responsibility for every counselor. Go to Virginia state board’s website and look up cases of counselor’s who were disciplined by the board. You may want to look under such terms as “case decisions,” enforcement actions,” “actions taken by board,” or “discipline.” If you cannot find your particular state’s disciplinary decisions, then pick another state. Look over the cases that have come before your state board and answer all of the following questions:
What are the most common reasons for a board to discipline a counselor, and what is your personal reaction as you read through the list? What are some themes you see when you look at the common reasons for board discipline? Choose one of the more recent cases and discuss the following points: What was the behavior that led to the discipline? Identify and share the ACA Code of Ethics and your State Code that was violated. What was the outcome of the board discipline? What does the ACA Code of Ethics and your state code say about counselor impairment? What is a question this bring to mind for you?
