Individual Story Performance: The story performance must include the following elements:
age-appropriate literature for children in any grade level between kindergarten and eighth grade (between the ages of 5 and 13 years) published in a picture book, a chapter book with illustrations, or an illustrated anthology.
at least two characters who have a dialogue.
a story that encourages something you value.*
at least one visual aid.
ELVES elements (ELVES practices will be discussed in class).
guided discussion about the illustrator’s medium, techniques, and/or choices.
information children may find interesting about either the author or illustrator.
a coherent performance that is 15-20 minutes in length; if the stories fit in the overall time limit of 15-20 minutes, more than one story may be told, but the performance of at least one of the stories must involve the qualities noted above.
