Title: The Environmental Impacts of Global Business: Exploring the Relationship between CSR and Corporate Social Irresponsibility

Your essay question for this assessment is: With a focus on the environmental impacts of global business, is CSR largely a cover for Corporate Social Irresponsibility? If so, how? If not, why not?
Structure and guidance: As well as an Introduction and Conclusion, you need to include the following sections in the main body of your essay:
1.    Define your terms: What is CSR? What is Corporate Social Irresponsibility? What is the relationship between the two?
2.    What are the environmental impacts of global business?  Give examples.
3.    What are some of the main ways in which the environment is addressed in CSR? You must refer to course concepts, models and theories, and provide examples.
4.    What are some of the ways in which corporations behave irresponsibly with respect to the environment? You must refer to course concepts, models and theories, and provide examples
5.    Taking in to account both the ways in which the environment is addressed in CSR (question 3 above), and the ways in which corporations behave irresponsibly with respect to the environment (question 4 above), answer the essay question: With a focus on the environmental impacts of global business, is CSR largely a cover for Corporate Social Irresponsibility? If so, how? If not, why not?
Minimum research requirements: We require you to use a minimum 6 recent (published in the last 10 years) peer-reviewed academic references in Assessment 3. At least half of these need to be from the course. The aim of doing research is to inform your essay. Please note that essays awarded a high mark would normally be based on high-quality research drawing upon a diverse range of academic resources as well as practitioner and policy-based information.
You need to cite and reference all your sources of information. 
ESSAT FORMAT
Your work should follow a standard essay format of introduction, body, and conclusion and should use formal academic language and referencing conventions. You must write in full sentences – NO bullet points.  
We suggest you use headings (and sub-headings if you need them) to help structure your essay.
You do not need a table of contents in an essay.
The learning materials in the Week 9 module are particularly relevant for this assessment.
Further assistance with be provided in Week 11 lecture and tutorials which are focused on essay writing.
