Title: My Impact on Sustainability: Personal Reflection and Daily Actions

IDS 150 Module One Short Paper Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
Do you have what it takes to be sustainable? Your actions and behaviors can improve sustainability and ensure that future generations can live a life of happiness. For example, your action of conserving electricity and your related behavior of turning off the lights can help reduce power plant emissions and improve air quality. Being sustainable is about more than just you, though. Let’s start by looking at your actions and behaviors. Then, in our next module, we’ll talk about interconnectedness.
Directions
For this short paper, you will write about what sustainability means to you and how your actions and behaviors can impact the environment.
Specifically, you must address the following:
Explain what sustainability means to you.
Consider giving examples of your personal experiences. If you do not feel comfortable sharing your personal experiences, you may use different examples that resonate with you. For instance, you may use media or news examples that reflect what sustainability means to you.
Describe how considering sustainability affects your daily life.
For example, if you think about sustainability when making decisions about transportation, you may decide to use public transportation instead of driving a vehicle with no passengers. This could save you money on gas, but it might pose other issues related to convenience or time management.
Describe decisions you could consider making about a sustainability issue like the above example, along with the positive and negative impacts of the decisions on your daily life.
Describe how your daily actions and behaviors can impact the environment.
For instance, if you choose to use public transportation as in the example above, your daily commute could support sustainability by reducing carbon emissions that harm the environment.
Describe how your daily actions and behaviors related to the decisions you described above (or other decisions) can help or harm the environment.
What to Submit
Submit your paper as a 1- to 2-page Microsoft Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, and one-inch margins. No sources are required. However, if you choose to use sources, follow APA citation guidelines when citing sources both throughout and at the end of your paper. While you will not be graded on the quality of your citations in this assignment, you may receive guidance from your instructor on how to properly cite sources

Title: Exploring the Evolution of Marketing in the Age of Social Media: A Partial Draft

POST THE DRAFT TO THIS ASSIGNMENT LINK AND TO THE PARTIAL DRAFT DISCUSSION BOARD.
TWO SOURCES USED IN THE LINK IN FILES PLEASE ONLY USE THOSE AND ADD A SOURCE
Final Research Paper Assignment
For your paper you will investigate an aspect of your chosen career. You will make an argumentative and/or analytical statement and back that up with interdisciplinary research, which will grow from a research question. We will work in consultation to develop the research questions and statement.
Length: 7-10 pages, plus a Works Cited or Bibliography on a separate page not to be counted in the page count total
Sources: 7-10 credible sources from at least two different disciplines. At least four must be scholarly. Sources must be cited in the text and in a Works Cited using MLA or APA format.
As noted, this is a staged assignment, with different elements due at different times. Stages are listed above.
More about what you will be researching:
The paper will be an in depth exploration of some aspect of your profession based on your own interests. You will first find a “job” which will serve as an entry point in exploring the field. This is prep for your assignment, though the paper will not focus on that specific job but on the field or career related to it. Questions you might explore could include things like, how does a particular trend affect the way this field has evolved (for example, how has social media usage transformed the field of marketing), or if a particular insight or technique is effective in a field (for example, how can hands on exploration be used in classrooms to engage students). You might also consider ethical or social issues in your field (for example, does data farming for marketing violate privacy rights or how might increasing diversity in police forces affect relationships between law enforcement and the community). Your focus should reflect your interests.
Make sure you review the Final Research Paper Assignment before completing your draft so you can keep your final goals in mind.
Partial Draft:
Length: 2.5 – 3 pages
Sources: Should incorporate at least two of your sources
The submitted pages do not have to be from the beginning or in “order” (you can skip around although it makes sense to include a sentence like “insert paragraph about x here” so the reader can see you are skipping around).
Although the draft doesn’t have to be in order, you should have a focusing statement – and statement of your argument or conclusions. This would be generally the “answer” to your research question(s).
Also include a rough outline of where you plan to go for the rest of the paper. Format does not matter.
Please note, this paper will go through plagriarism detection software. An incident of academic dishonesty occurs during the draft stage this will be counted as an act of academic dishonestly on the paper as a whole.
Failure to complete the assignment could or follow the directions could result in a reduction of the grade on your final draft by up to 5 points.
