Once you have done the research, it’s time for the rubber to hit the road.  You will use your skills as a media and gender scholar to produce one of the following that addresses the question raised by your proposal.  Projects should demonstrate depth and breadth of research and a critical/cultural lens, as well as creativity and ingenuity.  Final projects could take the form of any of the following: 
academic paper, 10 pages with full bibliography
short film
‘zine
short story
screenplay
public relations campaign
Or something else you would like to propose and get approval for
All written work will be turned in to the Blackboard Dropbox before class on 5/9. I expect college level writing, including full, correct citations on your bibliography. Please use TNR 12 pt font, double spaced and APA citation for all work in the course.

for this paper I am to watch the 2009 film Precious and use direct examples from the films to explain subculture theories, labeling (social reaction) and feminist/conflict theories.
