Title: “Analyzing Sociological and Legal Issues in Mainstream Media Coverage of Sport: A Case Study Using Sociological Theories and Legal Theory” In recent years, the intersection of sports and society has become a hot topic in mainstream media

Title: “Sustainable Sport: A Bright Idea for a Greener Future”

The aim of this project is for you to come up with a unique idea to make sport sustainable—make sport work with the environment! You can choose any aspect of sport (the game, athletes, rules, standards, policies, training, facilities, fields/courts, equipment, apparel, etc.). This is an oral presentation combined with a PowerPoint.
Your presentation will be graded on the following:
Professionalism ​​​
Time limit (max. 4-minutes), Use of outside sources to support and strengthen your presentation. PowerPoint must include in-text citations, “Key” and References at the end.
Bright Idea!​​​
What is your Bright Idea? Explain your idea, describe/show how it will result in sport working with (as opposed to against) the environment. Include prescriptive non-moral justifications for your idea (utility, intrinsic, extrinsic, and/or contributory).
Moral, Ethical, and Socially Responsible Reasoning
Why should (prescriptive, moral) your idea be implemented? Provide reasoning to include moral/ethical, and Rawls (LMR). For social responsibility, explain your idea through the lens of the (ToJ) and one or more of the sociological theories.

The Dialectic Method
Take us through an iteration/round of the (DM), identifying/explaining the (T), (AT), and (S) at each stage. Explain how the implementation of your idea will result in sport working in harmony with the environment. Last, predict ‘the absolute’ (Ab) for your Bright Idea.

Title: The Sociological Underbelly of Transgender Inclusion in Sports: A Critical Analysis Using the Matrix of Oppression

Identify a sport-specific issue of interest to you. Using the ‘matrix of oppression’ (PDF provided) as your framework, craft a comment grounded in specific aspects of the sociological theories to explain the sociological underbelly of hierarchy, hegemony, appropriation, and assimilation toward understanding “the why” of this issue (Thesis). In closing, offer, a moral/ethical (AntiThesis) and a legal (A.T.) that will advance progressive change (sociologically).
