Remember the focus is impact meaning how is the individual who is the substance user, the family, and the community effected by SUD’s. This paper should take into consideration the needs of special populations such as neonates, children, and older adults as well as cultural and racial considerations. More often than not, an addict/alcoholic will also have a co-occurring mental health diagnosis(es), how does this play out? Impact is the key word.
