This paper asks you to analyze a film in its original historical context (in terms of both film history but also its particular social and geopolitical context).  Focusing on one film, provide an analysis that situates and understands the film’s form (aesthetic and narrative strategies) and meaning in relation to its historical context. Always keep in mind where and when the film was made—how does it reflect its particular location and time period.
