Assignment 2: Review – 250-300
words – 10pts
Select
either a film, text, or song and write a short review which critiques the merit
of the piece and whether it achieves something meaningful as work of art or
accomplishes some other defined goal. Your review should focus on identifying
what the subject is attempting to communicate and how effective that
communication is.
A review
is not a summary and should take an either positive or negative stance on the
chosen piece and back up that stance in a meaningful way (i.e., your review may
begin with an opinion, but if that is all you have then it is an ineffective
piece of writing)
If you are
completing the Review and Analytical Breakdown you may use the same piece of
media for both.
