Paper Structure
The structure of the paper is like papers you may have written before. Our history
research paper includes your thesis (answer to the research question above), body, and
a conclusion. In the body of the assignment, you will explain your topic (issue) using
scholarly sources. You will use annotations that include references, paraphrases, and
direct quotations (in-text citations) from your sources. This part of the process, providing
references and citations from your sources, is extremely important and will be helpful
when writing your draft. The research paper will include a works cited page that lists the
sources you have used in the paper. Use MLA or your preferred style to format your
essay and works cited page
Research Question:
Numerous actors in Mexican American history played significant roles in changing
society, as is evidenced by our course studies. Choose one individual, institution,
or place that you believe played a crucial role in Mexican American history. Why
do you believe they played such a crucial role? Tell us about this actor and the
reasons why they are important to Mexican American
Format
• 5 to 7 pages double-spaced, not including your works cited page.
• 12 pt. Times New Roman font. Please save your work!
• Include your answer to the research question/thesis statement in first paragraph.
• Margins = 1.25 inches (Left, Right) 1 inch (Top, Bottom) (standard word setting)
• Include at least 10 in-text citations (total) in your paper.
• Apply MLA format or your preferred academic format style in the body of the
paper & Works Cited page
