“Comparing the Cost of Business Start-Up Procedures in Spain and Hungary: A Statistical Analysis of 2019 Data”

You should analyse the data on the world’s Cost of business start-up procedures (% of GNI per capita) in year 2019. In addition to the overall statistical analysis compare (and contrast) the performance of Spain in year 2019 with the world’s overall performance in terms of your indicator. You should also do the same analysis on your home country’s(Hungary is the home country) Cost of business start-up procedures (% of GNI per capita).
The analysis should be presented in a 2000 words essay (written in MS Word) including all necessary information. (Your reader should be able to understand it without any further study in economics and without seeing your Excel file).
The sample data and a sample essay are available on Moodle.
For the data analysis follow the following guideline:
1)     Describe briefly the variable of your interest.
2)     Provide a tabular summary of the given variable. (use classes!)
3)     Display a histogram on your data, and describe the information summarized by the histogram in a few sentences.
4)     Display one or more boxplots of your data and describe them.
5)     Describe the important measures of location, their possible relationship, and explain their meaning to the reader.
6)     Describe the important measures of variability and explain their meaning to the reader.
7)     Describe the important measures of shape and explain their meaning to the reader, and (if possible) connect it to the measures of location and variability.
8)     Compare the performance of the selected country (…) with your overall data on …

The assignment will be assessed based on the following criteria (see the grid on Moodle):
•                 Excel file (20%)
•                 Understanding of Material (25%)
•                 Analysis (30%)
•                 Source Use (15%)
•                 Language and mechanics (10%)
Papers shorter than 1,800 or longer than 2,200 words fail automatically. Poor academic practice (e.g., quoting directly from sources that exceeds 10% of the paper) will result in automatic fail.
