In Cape Town’s informal sector, immigrant entrepreneurs contribute significantly but struggle to adopt digital technologies and information and communication technologies (ICTs). They face limited support and high costs. Language barriers and restrictive policies further hinder their use of digital tools. These challenges widen the digital divide and slow progress in technology adoption and social innovation.
Primary question: What elements influence the immigrant entrepreneur’s use of digital technologies in the informal economy?
