Select a news article from The New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/06/world/asia/indian-couple-deny-charges-of-abusing-teenage-maid.html) that features a current or recent event or issue relating to a theme in the novel, that questions the legitimacy or accuracy of the events or themes of the novel. This article should further explore a case, ruling, specific circumstance, or raise questions. You must be able to present this article and discuss its various points to the class.
Create a list of 3-5 questions that will prompt discussion on this issue. These questions should both make your classmates think and/or provoke conversation and full class discussions.
Assemble research, links to video and article, discussion questions into a Google Slide Presentation that you will share with the class. Consider verbal and visual design elements when preparing your presentation.
Each presentation must be between 5 and 7 minutes long. You will essentially be teaching the class about your particular topic matter and your findings.
Finally, you must write a 2-3 page essay stating your position on this issue using supporting arguments. Does Vikas Swarup accurately portray Indian society/themes/issues/or events in the novel? In this essay, you must (1) reference our book, (2) reference the article used within your presentation to support your argument.
